About me
I am a recent graduate of UC Berkeley, with a BA in the History of Art. Although art is my true love, I have a deep passion for science, skepticism, and critical thinking. I am a former evangelical Christian turned atheist. I’m also a contributor to the de-Conversion blog, a resource for former or skeptical Christians.
This is my favorite quote of all time:
“The skepticism of this century has denied us the ability to see in God anything else than a nominal abstraction, perhaps non-existent. The love of God is no longer permitted us.One love alone is still allowed us, that of works of art. Let us, wherefore, fling ourselves upon this last plank of salvation. Let us become mystics of art.”
-G.-Albert Aurier, from “Essay on a New Method of Cristicis

How did you come to be using my last name for this? Not at all bothered by it, just curious.

My handle is a reference to the British city. Think of it as a question. “Are you going to Brighton, or Dover?”

and you felt that orBrighton wouldn’t work for you? :)

Nope. Sorry. :)

If you’re going to Dover, the only reason can be because you need to catch a ferry to the continent.
There are many reasons for going to Brighton, including its architecture, night-life, beaches, and raffish reputation!
